The Cowaramup and Gracetown region boasts a wide variety of attractions and activities that all of your family can enjoy on a holiday.
Beaches
Right next to your holiday accommodation there is a very inviting beach perfect for children to have a swim. Surrounded by a large bay is a protected reef ideal for surfing, snorkeling, fishing and kayaking. There is a protected boat ramp and a small jetty, a great place to take the boat out into the open ocean to do some reef surfing, fishing and diving.
Wineries and Local Produce
Our holiday park is surrounded by the famous Margaret River wine region, wineries and vineyards. Just minutes from our doorstep visit Olio Bello, where they make fresh olive oils and other olive products, the Margaret River Chocolate factory, the Margaret River Cheese factories, Candy Cow and finish up with some of our local wineries such as Vasse Felix, Edwards Vineyard, Fermoy Estate and Mosswood. Cullen Wines offer a great selection of premium Margaret River organic wines and as well as organic food for lunch. Why not book a tour at the reception, we provide a range of different tours for you to enjoy the region.
Whale Watching
Take a favourite bottle of wine, a cheese platter and your deck chair to enjoy the magical experience of a Gracetown sunset, enjoying the whales' entertainment during their migration season. The bay provides a large whale playground and a perfect seaside hill for you to watch the whales on sunset. A very memorable experience for the children and the big kids! There are whale tours available at Augusta, Dunsborough and Busselton. Bookings can be made at reception.
Maps and Information
Maps and information for scenic tours are available at reception and our chalets have an information booklet for your convenience. Gracetown is a small and friendly hidden coastal town, there is a shop that can provide most of your needs including fuel, food, alcohol, bait and some groceries. Cowaramup is less then ten minutes away and has a country store with grocery supplies, a small post office, an Italian restaurant and a few cafes with art and craft, a butchers shop with all your meat needs, a liquor and wine outlet providing the largest range of local and southwest wine. Margaret River a fifteen minute drive from us, is surrounded by forest and is only fifteen minutes away from the beach. Margaret River has all the amenities that a large town provide including Coles and lots of shops, a post office, police station, resorts, a recreation centre and schools.
Surfing
One of Gracetown's key qualities is that it is a surfing town. There are at least six quality surfing breaks in and around Gracetown Bay, minutes from each other. From the learner to the more experienced surfer there is a surf break for everyone and every type of board including mal riders, short board riders and body board riders. Some of the surf breaks have been made famous by pros and surfing videos. There are plenty of other excellent breaks nearby, meaning that you are almost guaranteed to find a break without anyone else on the perfect waves rolling in.
Caves
The region has lots of popular caves including the Yallingup Ngilgi Cave situated north. The caves are a great experience and shouldn't be missed. The most popular caves have tours that run daily. With a good pair of comfortable shoes the caves can be enjoyed by just about everyone. Experienced cavers and abseilers will enjoy the many caves and cliffs surrounding the area. Check at reception for a map and shire regulations for self guided tours.
Diving
For a great diving experience the World War II warship HMAS Swan is situated in the Geographe Bay out from Busselton. For more information please ask at reception.
